The Vermont Department of Health reported nine new cases of coronavirus as of Monday afternoon, bringing the total of Vermont cases to 768. Health care professionals have conducted 11,507 tests in Vermont to date. Five additional deaths were reported today, bringing the total to 35 in the state.
The department released a new inspirational video with advice about how to stay happy while staying home.
The department also convened a working group of experts to research antibody tests for Covid-19. Based on the findings of these groups, experts will decide how to best include this type of test in Vermont’s response to the virus.
Serologic testing measures antibodies in the blood of a person who has been infected with Covid-19, whether they felt sick or not. In other words, it measures the body’s immune response to the virus, but does not detect the virus itself. At this point, the priority for testing is to determine who is currently infected, the department said.
