The state has extended the special enrollment period for Vermonters without health insurance until May 15. The program was implemented to facilitate access to health care during the state of emergency in partnership with qualified health plan issuers including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont and MVP Health Care.

The special enrollment period is for a limited period of time and was originally offered on March 20. Vermonters without health insurance will be able to enroll in a qualified health plan and will be able to get premium and cost-sharing assistance, if eligible.

“The Department of Vermont Health Access believes, along with Blue Cross Blue Shield and MVP, that this Special Enrollment Period is a critical path for uninsured Vermonters to access health insurance during this unprecedented public health crisis,” said Agency of Human Services Commissioner Cory Gustafson.

Vermonters can enroll online or call 855-899-9600 between Monday and Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
