The Washington and Northern Orange Counties Regional Response Command Center officially operationalized a community-support call center on Friday, April 3. Operating from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. seven days a week, the center is a free and confidential community-support resource for anyone seeking guidance and connection to support services and resources in Central Vermont.
The mission of the center is to address the needs of the most vulnerable during the pandemic, reduce the medical surge and flatten the curve, and to support and be an ally to state and local efforts.
โThe Call Center is a significant achievement for us, and one that took a lot of cross-collaboration across several different organizational bodies to pull off,โ said Sue Minter, executive director of Capstone Community Action and one of the three “unified commanders” of the center.ย
Trained volunteers, working in 3ยฝ-hour shifts will staff the phones, with support from WNOC-RRCC members. The center is seeking additional volunteers; anyone interested should contact Allison Levin at Allison.levin@wnocrrcc.org.
