Gov. Phil Scott on Monday said Vermont “strongly discourages” incoming travel from coronavirus hotspots in the Northeast, directing “non-essential” travelers from outside the state to self-quarantine for 14 days. “If you don’t need to come to Vermont, please don’t,” the governor said. While no new deaths from COVID-19 were reported in Vermont today, two people who previously died are affiliated with Pinecrest, a senior living complex in Essex. The state’s cases rose by 21 to 256 total confirmed. See VTDigger’s story

The presiding judge in Chittenden County civil division has issued an order essentially halting evictions in the state’s largest county until the judicial emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has lifted. The judge has also ordered a delay of all foreclosure sales for 90 days in the county. See VTDigger’s story
