[T]wo teenagers wanted for questioning in a St. Johnsbury shooting early this morning that left another man hospitalized have turned themselves in.

Arther Butler, 17, of Topsham, and John Emerson III, 18, of Newbury, turned themselves in today at the Vermont State Police barracks in Westminster, St. Johnsbury Police said in a press release issued around 2:30 p.m

The man injured, Brandon Delude, 24, had been shot twice in the back area of his body. He was taken to Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury and then flown by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

His condition was not immediately available.

Police said both teens are currently in custody.

Butler faces charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, while Emerson faces a charge of being an accessory after the fact.

St. Johnsbury Police had been looking for the two teens following a shooting around 12:50 a.m. Tuesday on Elm Street.

Police said they were called to Elm Street for a report of shots fired and a person lying in the street. Witnesses at the scene stated that the โ€œindividual responsible for the shooting, Butler, had fled with Emerson.
