[W]HITE RIVER JUNCTION — Police have arrested a 28-year-old Windsor man in connection with a robbery at the Mascoma Bank branch off Maple Street in White River Junction on Monday.
Stephen Lynch allegedly passed a note to a teller around 2 p.m. implying that he had a weapon and demanded cash, according to a Hartford police news release issued today.
Massachusetts State Police stopped a vehicle with Lynch in it late Monday afternoon along Interstate 91. He was held in Massachusetts on a count of receiving stolen property, a charge that stems from him allegedly possessing the money that he stole from Mascoma Bank.
The vehicle was being driven by Katelyn Grizzaffi, 23, of Lebanon, Hartford Police Chief Phil Kasten said.
In Massachusetts, Grizzaffi also faces a count of receiving stolen property, as well as a charge for possessing an electric stun gun, Kasten said.
It’s unclear at this time if either have faced a judge in that state.
Assistant Windsor County State’s Attorney Ward Goodenough said today that Lynch will face a charge of larceny from a person in Vermont in connection with the bank robbery. Additional charges are pending. He declined to comment on what charges, if any, Grizzaffi might face in Vermont.
Kasten declined to comment on just how much money Lynch allegedly fled with.
Grizzaffi was the girlfriend of Austin Colson, the 19-year-old Royalton man who was shot and killed a year ago. His death has been ruled a homicide and no one has been charged. Colson disappeared one year ago this Friday.
