Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy is lobbying Republicans in Congress to support two bills that would end the federal government shutdown. Leahy this week accused President Donald Trump of holding the government hostage over his proposed border wall. The Democratic plan does not include funding for a wall.

Staffers on โ€˜16 Sanders campaign want meeting to discuss sexual harassment

More than two dozen staffers from Bernie Sandersโ€™ 2016 presidential campaign have signed a letter urging Sanders and his strategists to discuss sexual misconduct on the campaign trail. The letter, which was published by Politico this weekend, refers to a dangerous dynamic of sexual harassment during the 2016 campaign.

Report: Vermont wages are stuck at 2010 levels

Vermonters’ wages have remained largely stagnant during the past decade, according to the Public Assets Institute. The Montpelier think tank’s annual State of Working Vermont report says the state has seen economic growth, but that growth mainly has benefitted those already in upper income brackets.
