Dear Readers,
We are nearly to our end-of-year goal with only $53K left to raise. Today we ask you to close our fundraising goal. As a contributor, your support will allow VTDigger to continue the kind of investigative reporting that holds the powerful to account.
Earlier this month, we featured a seven-part series about alleged alcohol abuse and sexual harassment by leaders at the Vermont National Guard. We interviewed moreย than 24 individuals โ former and current Guard members โ who came forward to talk to us about theirย disappointment with the alleged improprieties.ย We took their concerns seriously, corroborated their stories and sought documents to back up claims. The stories we published were the culmination of six months of reporting, editing and fact-checking by a team of reporters and editors, led by reporter Jasper Craven.
This kind of reporting takes time, resources and a dedication to truth-telling in the face of criticism. We hope you’ll take the time to support our work.

As a nonprofit newsroom, we prioritize truth over profits. This is why we rely on charitable support from our readers.ย Donations help us to obtain records, travel to meet sources, and give us time to get the story right.
A huge thanks to all of our donors who have contributed this year.
