Headley had been freed on conditions in that case when police say he shot and killed Lumumba.

Lumumba had sought a restraining order against Headley just months before she was killed, but the request was dropped because she missed a court appointment. In her request for protection, Lumumba said Headley was extremely anxious and abusive because of the pending child sex trial.
Police did report finding Headleyโs vehicle, a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, was found parked on street in Albany, New York, on May 18. However, they said at that time there were no reported sightings of Headley in the Albany, N.Y., area.
