Light switch

VTDigger is changing its commenting platform to Talk, a tool created by The Coral Project. Learn more about the transition and sign up now.

VTDigger is flipping the switch on our new commenting platform. To recap:

  • The new system is called Talk. You’ll need a new login to participate. See below for details on how to sign up.
  • Your Disqus login will no longer work on this site.
  • Comments you made using Disqus will still be visible. And if you signed up for Talk using the same email address, your old comments will be tied to your new account.
  • We’ve also updated our Community Guidelines to be more specific about what we do and don’t allow in our comments section.

Here’s how this will go. Starting this (Wednesday) afternoon, every post on our site will switch over to Talk.

It may take us a few hours to migrate over the old Disqus comments. If you can’t see a post you made in the past few days, don’t sweat it โ€” those posts should be restored by the end of the day.

This may, however, interrupt any responses you’re in the process of writing on Disqus.

We’re also working through a number of support requests on Talk signups. If you’ve contacted us, please know that we’re working to resolve your sign-in issues so that you can start participating ASAP. We also welcome general questions in the comments section of this post, or at comments@vtdigger.org.

Thanks for bearing with us as we make this transition.
