
[B]URLINGTON — Police are searching for a city woman whose family reported her missing Wednesday night, and officials are asking for the publicโs help.
Patricia Rooney, 57, was last seen at her Fletcher Place residence at roughly 10:30 p.m. Police said Rooney has a history of depression and was struggling recently, according to a news release. Officials said she left her home sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning, presumably on foot, leaving behind her coat, cell phone and car.
Police and firefighters conducted an extensive ground search of nearby wooded areas Thursday evening on a night where temperatures briefly dipped below zero, according to the National Weather Service.
The search resumed Friday morning and will be assisted from the air by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents, police said.
