The board of directors for Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor has announced a new chief executive officer.
Dr. Joseph Perras will take over the post Jan. 11. He will perform the CEO role while continuing to hold the responsibilities he has had as chief medical officer since February 2015.
Perras replaces Gay Landstrom, the former chief nursing officer who has been serving as interim CEO since June and is leaving for a position in Michigan. Kevin Donovan left the permanent CEO position in May to run two hospitals in New Hampshire.
Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center is one of the smallest hospitals in Vermont and expects to take in $47.7 million in patient care revenue in the current fiscal year. It is an affiliate of the umbrella Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health system based in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Perras is an internal medicine doctor who practiced for 12 years at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, according to a press release. He is involved in OneCare Vermont, a giant health care organization based in Colchester that is a key part of Vermontโs health care reform efforts.
In a press release, Dr. James Weinstein, who will leave his post as CEO of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on June 30, called Perras โa skilled and dedicated physician leader.โ
