In this Facebook video, Mayor Miro Weinberger urges Burlington voters to support ballot initiatives that will give the final greenlight to the redevelopment of Burlington Town Center, a mall on Church Street.
The 14-story proposed development requires a change in zoning requirements. The mayor has asked voters to support a height limit change for buildings in the city. In addition, he wants approval for a tax increment financing plan that would allow Don Sinex, the developer, to reconnect two city streets.
The project includes affordable housing. Weinberger and housing advocates held a press conference near city hall to promote the project on Thursday.
