Two Vermont correctional facilities will have new leadership in place as of next week.
Mark Potanas, the superintendent of Southern State Correctional Facility, is currently on paid administrative leave, according to director of facility operations Mike Touchette.
Ed Adams, the current superintendent of Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility, will leave his post to serve as interim superintendent in Springfield.
Jen Sprafke, assistant superintendent at Chittenden Regional, will take over as superintendent.
Touchette refused to provide a reason for Potanas’ absence, saying in an email that administrative leave “is a matter of confidentiality.”
