VTDigger’s 2016 Primary Election Guide has been updated with campaign finance information.
The campaign contribution data includes total amounts raised by each of the candidates for governor and lieutenant governor.
The database shows how much candidates received from in-state and out-of-state contributors and how much they received in gifts under $100 versus large donations from supporters.
Each candidate campaign finance page also lists donors and how much they contributed. The information can be viewed in alphabetical order.
VTDigger’s primary guide features profiles of the five gubernatorial candidates (three Democrats, two Republicans) news stories, press releases and campaign ads.
The guide includes aย candidate comparison chart thatย makes it easy to figure out where candidates stand on 10 key issues.
The chart features two sentence, summary responses to questions the gubernatorial candidates answered in editorial board meetings with VTDigger reporters.
If you want to know more, you can click on the link to the longer, more nuanced answers given by Matt Dunne, Peter Galbraith and Sue Minter (the Democratic gubernatorial candidates) and by Bruce Lisman and Phil Scott (the Republican gubernatorial candidates).
Weโve asked each of the candidates for governor where they stand on gun control, strategies for economic growth, Act 46 (the school district merger law), the state budget, marijuana, Syrian refugee resettlement, paying for Lake Champlain cleanup, renewable energy siting, Vermont Health Connect and decommissioning Vermont Yankee.
For the lieutenant governor candidates in the Democratic Primary, we’ve cited three top priorities. Each of the priorities links to a brief bio of the candidates — Kesha Ram, Shap Smith and David Zuckerman.
