A man was pronounced dead at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington on Monday after being taken there by ambulance from the GlobalFoundries headquarters in Essex Junction.

The Essex Police Department and Essex Rescue say they responded to a call at the GlobalFoundries property at 10:18 a.m. and found a man about 60 years old who was unresponsive and receiving CPR from staff.

The man died at the hospital. His name has not been released.

James Keller, a spokesperson for GlobalFoundries, said the man was a company employee who experienced a “medical incident” at the headquarters.

“The GlobalFoundries community is saddened by this loss and concerned for the family and co-workers,” he said. “At this point, we have no further information to share.”

The Police Department said it could not release more information until Tuesday morning, when an autopsy is scheduled.
