Two Springfield women were convicted of Medicaid fraud this week, according to a news release from the Attorney Generalโs Office.
Jessica Wood, 38, and Angela Martin, 35, were convicted in Superior Court in Windsor of three counts of falsely obtaining money from Vermontโs Medicaid program.
The two women submitted false time sheets to be paid from the Medicaid-funded Childrenโs Personal Care program. Martin purported to be the caregiver for a child, and Wood was the employer.
Wood and Martin were ordered to pay $13,715 to the Vermont Medicaid program in restitution.
The two women were sentenced to 18 to 38 months in prison, all suspended. They were placed on two years of probation, and are required to complete 80 hours of community service.
