The Shumlin administration will get a new head of economic development in April.
Joan Goldstein, executive director of the Green Mountain Economic Development Corporation, will fill the slot, the governorโs office said in a statement on Thursday.
At GMEDC, Goldstein diversified services in Windsor and Orange counties. She comes from a two-decade career in international financial services, working at JP Morgan and Credit Suisse.
Goldstein also worked as an adviser for the Small Businesses Development Corporation.
โEconomic development is critical for the further prosperity of the state and I am very pleased to have this opportunity to play a role,โ Goldstein said in a statement.
Goldstein replaces Lisa Gosselin, who has served since July 2013.
During her tenure, Gosselin launched initiatives to attract employees to Vermont and organized an economic development summit. She also oversaw a statewide study that targeted key areas for economic development over the next five years.
โSheโs been a tremendous asset to the state and we hate to see her go,โ said Gov. Peter Shumlin.
She will be leaving the administration in April, and will become vice-president at Addison Press Inc. in Middlebury.
