Essex Junction business consultant Dan Feliciano will run for governor representing the Vermont Libertarian Party.
Feliciano said in a news release that his campaign would focus on promoting less government spending and lower taxes and would oppose single-payer health care.
“What we need is a complete break from the system that continues to recklessly increase spending and taxes, creating an unstable and unpredictable business climate, and infringing on people’s basic civil liberties. When it comes down to it, it’s a simple message – that people are smart enough to make their own decisions,” Feliciano said in a statement.
Feliciano also supports Second Amendment gun rights and would support the legalization of marijuana.
Feliciano has 20 years of experience integrating business acquisitions, leading and driving large-scale business transformations, according to the news release.
The deadline for candidates to submit petitions to appear on the primary or general election ballot is Thursday.
