State police Thursday identified the troopers involved in a May 28 officer-involved shooting in Barton as Sgt. Denis Girouard and Trooper Seth Loomis.
Girouard, 43, was hired in July 2000, according to the state police. He is the patrol commander at the St. Johnsbury barracks, police said.
Loomis, 26, was hired in November 2011 and is a Trooper First Class at the St. Johnsbury barracks. Both officers remain on unpaid administrative leave.

Police did not say what the charges will be.
Once the investigation into the shooting is complete, the Attorney Generalโs Office and the Orleans County Stateโs Attorneyโs Office will review the case, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:08 a.m. Wednesday after Jackson allegedly stole a vehicle from a residence on U.S. 5 in Sutton and sped away.
