Police on Thursday arrested an inmate at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans after the man on two occasions assaulted correctional officers, police said.
Daniel Mitchell, 21, is charged with two counts of assault on a correctional officer.
On May 21, Mitchell allegedly punched officer Michael Trombly in the face after police said Mitchell did not comply with the officerโs request to take down an object that was covering the window on the door of his cell.
On May 27, Mitchell allegedly covered his cell door window again and when officers entered to remove the object, Mitchell punched officer Ross Boudreau in the head, police said.
Both officers were treated for minor injuries, police said. Mitchell is scheduled to appear in Franklin County District Court on July 7.
