Jack Lindley, chair of the Vermont Republican State Committee, has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., according to a press release from the party.
Lindley, 68, was hospitalized two and a half weeks ago and was unconscious for much of that time. He is now well enough to begin rehabilitation.
Mark Snelling, a prominent member of the party, said in a statement that Lindley is beginning rehabilitation. It is not clear, at this point, when he will be ready to go back to work (he is an insurance broker).
Snelling said, however, that Lindley’s irascible sense of humor is still intact.
The family requests that friends delay visiting until Lindley is back at home.
Vermont Republicans will hold their annual meeting on Nov. 9, at which time members will vote on party leadership.
