Gov. Peter Shumlin will head deep into Quebec on Sunday for a convening of New England governors and Eastern Canadian premiers.
Energy will be the primary topic of discussion at the annual event, according to a media notice about the event. The 11 leaders will discuss regional initiatives to promote energy efficient vehicles and ways to adapt to climate change.
The conference, which has been held each year since 1973, will take place a luxury hotel in the Charlevoix region of Quebec. It alternates between countries; last year it was held in Burlington.
Shumlin will be in La Malbaie, Quebec, on Sunday and Monday. He’ll make the trip after hosting members of the Democratic Governors Association for a “Chair’s Retreat” at the Equinox Resort and Spa in Manchester, Vt. New Hampshire Gov.
