Following 13 job cuts at the Burlington Free Press, announced Aug. 1, the Vermont Department of Labor will hold an information session for laid off workers. The Rapid Response event will cover the logistics of applying for unemployment, orientation to additional resources from the state and job search techniques.

Eligibility to attend is not limited to former Free Press employees; anyone may attend. However, pre-registration is required due to limited seating that can accommodate only 20 participants. The session will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the department’s regional office at 63 Pearl Street in Burlington.

To register or learn more information, call the department’s district office at 863-7676.
