Warren Van Wyck was sworn in Thursday to replace the late Greg Clark, a Republican from Vergennes, as a representative for the Addison-3 district, which covers Vergennes, Ferrisburgh, Addison, Waltham and Panton. Van Wyck, a Republican from Ferrisburgh, works at the University of Vermont as senior analyst programmer in its Department of Enterprise Applications Services.

Gov. Peter Shumlin appointed Van Wyck upon the recommendation of Republicans from his district.

Shumlin released the following statement today: “Warren has big shoes to fill. Greg’s warmth and humor are missed in the Legislature,” said Gov. Shumlin. “I look forward to working with Warren and appreciate that he shares Greg’s collaborative view of State House work because we are solving some big challenges this year, including strengthening Vermont’s education system and workforce.”
