The Sorrell campaign has received $22,623.97 in donations since July 15.
The incumbent Democrat has $57,656 in cash on hand to spend before the Aug. 28 primary. Sorrell, who has served as Vermont attorney general for 15 years, has raised a total of $114,623. In the last reporting period, Sorrell spent $19,872, according to a statement from his campaign.
His challenger, TJ Donovan, Chittenden County state’s attorney has brought in $166,971 this campaign season.
The candidates have roughly the same amount of money on hand. Sorrell has $57,656; Donovan has $54,192 in cash.
Sorrell said in a statement: “I am honored to have received this financial support. We have outpaced our own financial benchmarks and have the money we need to finish strong and win this election.”
