Former Gov. Howard Dean is pulling out all the stops for his old friend, Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell.
So far, he’s held a press conference and signed off on two letters of endorsement to voters. This week Dean will come out of retirement again to draw attention to his old office mate on the Fifth Floor (Sorrell was the governor’s secretary of administration back in the day).
The duo is planning to appear on the conservative WVMT AM 620 talk show Charlie and Ernie and Lisa In the Morning! at 8:40 a.m. Friday. That same evening Sorrell will make an appearance in Bennington.
The Vermont attorney general hasn’t faced a substantial challenge in the General Election, let alone the primary in 15 years. This election season, his eighth, he’s facing off with TJ Donovan, the young, popular Chittenden County state’s attorney, who, like Sorrell, comes from a notable Catholic political family from Burlington.
