Dear Readers:

This past Saturday five VTDigger reporters and editors gave up a beautiful spring day to spend 14 hours in the Statehouse. They covered all of the twists and turns of the last day of the session, keeping tabs on the fate of the budget, tax reform and school safety — right up until midnight when the session finally adjourned.

That last coverage push was part of our commitment to provide readers with the most comprehensive news from the Statehouse. Every beat reporter spends hundreds of hours covering our citizen legislators each year. All told, that coverage costs about $350,000 each session. That’s a lot of money, but we’re able to do it because you give, and we thank you for it. We’ve got just about $62,000 to raise to make sure we can continue to bring you this comprehensive coverage.

Over 750 people have now given in our spring campaign and we’re two-thirds of the way to making our goal. That means we need about 375 more people to make a gift in order to end this campaign. If you’ve been waiting to see how we’re doing before giving, now is the time to break out your wallet and make a gift. VTDigger reporters are everywhere in the Statehouse that you need them to be, but they can’t do what they do without your help.

If our reporting matters to you, please take this opportunity to support VTDigger.

Ways to give

A tax-deductible gift to VTDigger is one of the best ways to ensure that our reporting remains strong.

Help us end our spring drive! Please give today.

Thank you for your support.
