A celebration of life service will be held for Nancy on Saturday, October 16th at 11 am at Christ Church in Montpelier, Vt.

This is the year anniversary of Jim Roos’ death, just 10 days before his 90th birthday.

Throughout his life Chris balanced his passion for public education with his love of family, travel, including to his home in Calabash, NC, home improvements, wood working, skiing, gardening, reading, a passion for trains, and many other activities.

David was one of the most experienced developers of small, high-end hotels in the world – a credential he earned after years as a successful investment banker.

William Boone Pennebaker Jr, one of the vanguard of researchers who developed the videoconferencing technology that has kept the world connected throughout the pandemic, passed away peacefully on 8 September 2021, at home and surrounded by loving family.

Lifelong, Marian was dedicated to peace and non-violence, feminism, nuclear disarmament, and social justice. She protested, she wrote, she marched, she camped, she was jailed, she advocated, she ran for VT Governor under the Citizen’s Party, she sang, she held meetings and vigils.

Phoebe was one of a kind, outspoken, generous and a raging extrovert.  You always knew where you stood with her. She had hundreds of friends and was loyal beyond belief.

Charles was active in the antiwar movement in the 1960s and 70s in New York and Boston. Later,
in Burlington, he was on the frontlines in community politics and organizing.

Tony Markellis was a mainstay on the Burlington music scene for more than 45 years, most notably as a founding member of Kilimanjaro and The Unknown Blues Band featuring Big Joe Burrell.

People who knew Charlie well will carry with them his contagious curiosity and enthusiasm for history, prehistory, music, movies and whatever fun grabbed him. He’d always give that, and whatever else he could, to anyone around him.

Dick was an active pilot and he and Barb took numerous trips across the country to Alaska and the Caribbean. He also loved skiing, tennis, boating, horseback riding, and writing. He had a passion for woodworking and spent many hours making furniture and other pieces for Timberlock.

A celebration of the life of Barbara Jordan of South Burlington will be held at Williston Federated Church (44 North Williston Road) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18.
