Alexandra MacLean, a former top aide and campaign manager for Gov. Peter Shumlin, is joining KSE Partners, a lobbying firm in Montpelier.

MacLean ran Shumlinโ€™s 2010 and 2012 campaigns. She served in the Shumlin administration as the Secretary of Civil and Military Affairs.

MacLean most recently formed her own strategic communications business, ASM Strategies. Her primary client was Jay Peak Resort. She was the program manager for the Northeast Kingdom Economic Development Initiative. She will continue to work with Jay Peak at KSE.

She is a seasoned political operative and an expert in strategic communications. She will head our strategic communications practice and be intimately involved in all areas of the firm.โ€

MacLean grew up in Peacham and received a masters of history degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

โ€œI am incredibly excited to become a part of KSE,” MacLean said in a statement. “I am looking forward to leading the strategic communications practice and working with the other talented partners and employees at KSE to further grow the firm.โ€

KSE Partners represents Green Mountain Power, Iberdrola, AT&T, AIG, Exeter, Wholesale Beverage Association, Vermont Vehicle and Autodealers Association, the Pavers Association, among other clients.

MacLean will likely start around the first of the year, KSE said.
