  1. I honestly don’t get this rather extreme and bizarre pursuit of Shumlin’s vacation spot. Shumlin did in fact let enough folks know where he was at, and Shumlin did in fact keep in constant communication with his staff and Lt Gov Scott.

Here’s the test for newsworthy on this: does anyone have any reason to believe Shumlin was doing something unsavory or illegal?

    No?

    Didn’t think so.

Stop pandering to the Republican Party lead on a ginned up (non) controversy.

  2. I agree with Rama.
There is another thing I like about how the Gov.did this vacation without costing us tax payers more by taking security with him. That is fiscal responsibility , in my opinion.

Also Phil Scott did a fine job as stand in Gov..

  3. How do we know “Dominica” isn’t the new “Appalachian Trail”? ;-) )

  4. And we care because?

( I heard the Ag commissioner had tempeh for breakfast – breaking story live at 6)

  5. I question his judgement on the timing of this retreat. Is the office that he holds so stressful and difficult that he would need to take a vacation 2 months into his term and while the legislature is in session? Why didn’t he wait until after the legislature adjourns? Phil Scott did a great job handling a major weather disaster and holding down the fort, with the presence of calm and reason. Really wish he was governor instead!

  6. Patricia FYI last week the legislature was on break for town meeting week, not in session. They had adjourned for the week returning to work Tuesday the same day Gov Shumlin returned.
