High Mowing Organic Seeds Names Andrea Tursini as Chief Executive Officer
WOLCOTT, Vermont -- March 22, 2023
High Mowing Organic Seeds announces the appointment of Andrea Tursini as High Mowing Organic Seeds’ Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Tursini’s appointment as CEO reflects the large number of women in leadership positions at the 27-year-old Vermont-based Company, which is a leader in providing non-GMO, organic seed to commercial growers, home gardeners, retailers and seed companies across the United States and Canada. Most recently, Ms. Tursini was the Company’s Chief Marketing Officer.
With a background in agriculture and sales, Ms. Tursini has spent 12 years at High Mowing working to expand the Company’s range of high-quality organic seed to over 700 varieties. She views support of organic growers as a key element of High Mowing’s mission to create a food system where the wellbeing of the environment and people are a priority. The impact of climate change on growing systems is a deeply felt concern that Ms. Tursini carries in her new role, but the dedication of the High Mowing community to organic growers, and the organic growers themselves, keep her hopeful.

Ms. Tursini begins her tenure after a period of strong growth for the Company. The pandemic-driven surge in seed sales that began in 2020 prompted substantial investment in the Company’s infrastructure to support the long-term storage of greater quantities of organic seed. Ms. Tursini plans to build on these foundations, while continuing to cultivate meaningful relationships with organic seed breeders and producers.
