(Burlington, VT) The Fletcher Free Library reopened its Outside Pickup Service (OPS) this week in an effort to serve the community during this challenging time. “We’re excited to restart our Outside Pickup Service (OPS),” said Library Director Mary Danko. “Throughout this crisis we have offered and expanded our digital services, but sometimes it is so nice to rest our eyes on printed books and hold them in our hands again.” The library remains closed to the public until it is able to reopen.
The OPS program will allow patrons to place items on hold online and pick the items up at a table outside the library in a safe and socially distant manner. Up to 15 books and 5 DVDs may be placed on hold using a library card and pin number at https://ffl.polarislibrary.com/. Patrons may email, call, or use the chat feature on the FFL website for assistance. Due to decreased in-library staff capacity, the library requests that patrons only use this service every three weeks.
Patrons will schedule OPS pickup hours at FFL between noon-4pm Friday-Monday, and 4-8pm on Wednesday. FFL is waiving overdue fees and providing automatic renewals; the book drop remains closed. Fletcher Free Library cards are free for people who live or work in Burlington, and can be obtained by mail. For more information about these services or to obtain a library card, visit fletcherfree.org, call 863-3403 or email the library at [email protected].
