Burlington Code Academy Pledges $50,000 to their Diversity Initiative, funding the new Impact Scholarship

Burlington, VT (July 7, 2020)—Burlington Code Academy has announced the launch of a new scholarship program entitled the Impact Scholarship, designed to do exactly that: make an impact by dedicating our efforts to underserved and underrepresented populations in the tech industry. The scholarship is offered to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color), LGBTQ+ Individuals and Womxn.

Burlington Code Academy recognizes the immense lack of diversity in the tech industry and has made a dedicated effort to play their part in rectifying that. BCA recognizes the responsibility of the bootcamp industry in this endeavor; through their online bootcamp programs, career-focused education and student empowerment, Burlington Code Academy has a direct hand in shaping the future of tech.

The Impact Scholarship will be awarded to qualifying individuals who have a passion for learning in either Software Development or the UX Design field. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to empower students who come from historically underserved backgrounds to pursue their career dreams while contributing to the necessary and long overdue diversification of the tech industry.

Burlington Code Academy is an award-winning technology education center that has been helping students from all backgrounds since 2017. BCA’s array of part-time and full-time courses emphasize teamwork, career-readiness, and the value of collaborative learning in the 21st century workplace. Burlington Code Academy fuses education with practical career training to ensure students’ long-term success in the tech industry.
