Better(not bigger)Vermont [BnbVT] is excited to announce that the public can view a 70-minute video recording of a recent talk about steady state economies by Dr. Jon Erickson, the Blittersdorf Professor of Sustainability Science and Policy at the University of Vermont’s Rubenstein School of the Environment and Natural Resources. In his presentation, entitled “Infinite Economic Growth and Other Fairy Tales that Destroy Ecologies and Communities,” Dr. Erickson discusses the myth of infinite growth and the necessary steps toward a more resilient, fair and smaller economy. In addition, he shows how retooling our outdated economic structures can both address climate change and result in healthier and happier lives for ourselves and for future generations. He gave his talk at the Salisbury Congregational Church on February 15th.
Links to the video and to a copy of Dr. Erickson’s presentation slides are at the bottom of the landing page on BnbVT’s website (https://BetterNotBiggerVT.org).
