Two assaults and robberies took place in Burlington on Wednesday, according to press releases from the Burlington Police Department. 

In one incident around 3:30 p.m. in the Walgreens parking lot at Winooski Avenue and Cherry Street, a victim suffered significant facial injuries and was transported to The University of Vermont Medical Center by ambulance. Police reported the victim was in stable condition.

According to the release, police found the victim in the parking lot bleeding heavily from the face after an apparent assault. The suspect, who allegedly stole items from the victim, fled in a silver sedan prior to police arrival, according to the release. 

Police also reported an assault and robbery that took place in an ATM vestibule on Saint Paul Street earlier on Wednesday. 

Police said the victim entered the ATM around 7:30 a.m. and reportedly saw two women sleeping inside. The victim said after he completed his transaction, one woman punched him in the face and stole his money. She fled the scene prior to police arriving, according to the release. The victim reportedly had only minor injuries. 

On Wednesday night, police also responded to a gunfire incident in City Hall Park with no reported victims. Police continue to investigate that incident.
