More than 95% of Burlington city employees have been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to a statement from Mayor Miro Weinberger’s office.

Weinberger issued an order in late August requiring all city employees to be fully vaccinated according to U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, or be tested every week.

The deadline to get vaccinated was Oct. 11, the statement said, and testing for unvaccinated workers started this week.

56 employees chose getting tested instead of inoculation, according to the statement. That option is not available for employees who were hired after Oct. 11.
