The Vermont Department of Health reported 30 new cases of coronavirus as of Monday afternoon, bringing the total of Vermont cases to 605. Health care professionals have conducted 7,749 tests in Vermont to date. No new deaths were reported today.
The Health Department issued a two-page fact sheet with guidelines regarding facial masks. The sheet includes examples of when to wear one, as well as how to wear it properly and clean it regularly. The Health Department recommends that all Vermonters wear cloth face coverings when outside of the home to help slow the spread of Covid-19.
The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N95 respirators. Those types of masks are critical supplies that must be reserved for health care workers and first responders.
State officials continue to project the “peak” of cases in Vermont will fall between mid- to late April and early May.
The health department’s full report for today is here.
