The Department of Health reported 97 new cases of the coronavirus and no new deaths on Friday. Total cases in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic now number 14,251, and total deaths remain at 193.
New cases were reported Friday in 13 of Vermont’s 14 counties:
- Chittenden: 37
- Windham: 11
- Franklin: 12
- Lamoille: 7
- Orleans: 6
- Rutland: 6
- Bennington: 5
- Windsor: 4
- Washington: 3
- Caledonia: 2
- Grand Isle: 2
- Addison: 1
- Orange: 1
As of Friday, 37 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19. Thirteen of those people were in intensive care, and two more were hospitalized with a suspected case.
The state reported that 1,003,258 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March. As of Friday, 322,613 people have been tested. The seven-day average positivity rate is 1.8%, up from 1.7% on Thursday.
