The Department of Health reported 88 new cases of the coronavirus on Saturday and one new death. Saturday’s new cases bring the total confirmed in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,546. Deaths now number 63.
New cases were reported Saturday in 13 counties:
- Washington: 16
- Chittenden: 12
- Orleans: 12
- Bennington: 8
- Rutland: 6
- Orange: 6
- Windsor: 6
- Caledonia: 5
- Franklin: 5
- Lamoille: 5
- Windham: 3
- Addison: 3
- Essex: 1
As of Saturday, 17 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19, with two in intensive care. One other person was hospitalized with a suspected case.
The state reported that 506,543 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, an increase of 8,637. As of Saturday, 210,293 people have been tested. The seven-day positivity rate is 1.8%.
