The Department of Health reported 197 new cases of the coronavirus and four new deaths on Thursday. Total cases in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic now number 9,573, and total deaths number 162. 

New cases were reported Thursday in all 14 counties.

  • Lamoille: 6
  • Washington: 5
  • Caledonia: 4

  • Orleans: 2

As of Thursday, 44 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19. Eight of those people were in intensive care, and one more was hospitalized with a suspected case.

The state reported that 779,178 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, a single-day increase of 8,160. As of Thursday, 282,517 people have been tested. The seven-day average positivity rate is 2.9%, up from 2.8% on Wednesday.
