The Department of Health reported two new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus Wednesday.
The latest cases bring the total number of people diagnosed with the illness since the outbreak began in March to 971.
No new deaths were reported linked to the virus Wednesday. A total of 54 people have died with Covid-19 in Vermont.
As of Wednesday, 30,999 tests had been given for the coronavirus in Vermont. The state recently hit a goal of giving more than 1,000 tests per day for several days in a row — considered a key metric for testing capacity as restrictions to contain the virus are eased.
Also, no people were hospitalized in Vermont with confirmed cases of the virus in the data released Wednesday, though 21 people were in the hospital with their cases under investigation.
