The Vermont Department of Health reported 13 new Covid-19 cases on Friday afternoon, bringing the total caseload in the state to 879. The state has conducted 16,233 Covid-19 tests since the crisis began. One new death was reported today. A total of 50 people have died in Vermont due to coronavirus.
Gov. Phil Scott noted at a press conference that Green Up Day, when Vermonters traditionally come together to clean up miles of Vermont roads, would normally have taken place Saturday. The event has been postponed due to concerns about spreading the virus. The governor urged anyone out walking or hiking this weekend to bring along a bag or two and help keep the state green, and asked that people remember to maintain physical distancing and wear face masks when out in public.
