I write to support Gov. Scott and the way that he has directed Vermont throughout this pandemic. Racist commentary from outside Vermont about the way he is directing vaccinations is totally unacceptable and I want Gov. Scott to know that this Vermonter appreciates his decisions and his guidance.

As a white person, I am deeply shocked and ashamed of the ethnicity that I am a part of for the shameful way that we treat nonwhites, who are, after all, only human beings like the rest of us. I urge Gov. Scott to continue to stand strong in his convictions and in the guidance he is giving to the state of Vermont.

And I hope that his strong leadership will help at least this state to overcome this hateful behavior. There really is no need for it. We live in a country of plenty. Why is it so hard to share that we seem to need to invent boundaries to keep others from equitable distribution of resources?

Thank you, Gov. Scott, for your leadership and your fair and thoughtful guidance for our state.
