Before arriving at VTDigger she was a night desk editor at the Valley News, covering the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. Jeralyn has spent the last 14 years as a journalist. She holds a BA in journalism and sociology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. When not at work, Jeralyn can be found on the trail with her husband, in the woods hunting mushrooms or volunteering with animals.

David Boglioli, 73, of Wilmington, died Tuesday at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, according to the Vermont Department of Corrections.


Vermont State University to close libraries, downgrade sports programs

Vermont state trooper suspended during investigation of barracks theft

Giancarlo DiGenova was placed on paid leave on Dec. 19, according to the Vermont State Police. The agency said it was conducting a criminal investigation into alleged theft in the temporary evidence storage room in the Williston Barracks.


Burlington man charged in downtown stabbing death

Von “Red” Simmonds, 40, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with second-degree murder, according to the Burlington Police Department. He is accused of killing Abubakar Sharrif, 23, of Burlington.

Abdiaziz Abdhikadir is charged in the killing of Hussein Mubarak, 21, who was shot in the head on Luck Street on July 7. Abdhikadir also faces eight counts of attempted murder in a separate incident in which he allegedly fired shots into Mubarak’s home.
