Our spring member drive is one of two major efforts throughout the year in which we ask our readers to step forward and contribute to our news operation.

Our reporters work around the clock to provide fact-based, reliable and timely news for the state of Vermont. We don’t use a paywall or require subscriptions, because we believe that everyone should have access to public service news no matter what their financial situation is. But that means that we have to rely on donations from community members to keep our news accessible to all.
The future of our democracy depends on an informed citizenry. It’s our mission to provide the information readers need to make informed decisions and participate in our democratic process. We want to ensure that Vermont’s children are given the tools they will need to participate, which is why we’ve chosen to partner with the Children’s Literacy Foundation to send one book to a Vermont child for every member donation we receive.
