Suzanne Hiller See passed away on April 2, 2023, in Springfield, VT.

Suzanne Belle Hiller was born in Lakewood, Ohio, on February 26, 1931 to Franklin L. and Lucille Edith (Scott) Hiller. She was educated in Lakewood schools and graduated from Lakewood High where she was a proud member of the varsity swim team.

Suzanne attended Bowling Green University in Ohio before moving to be with her family who had relocated to Hackensack, NJ.  While working in New York City she met the love of her life, Russell Weston See, Jr.  They would spend several decades together with family and friends, skiing, enjoying life, and raising five children.  Their meeting was a fortuitous introduction by her friend, Ginny.  Bill and Ginny Durkin would remain lifelong friends of Suzie and Russ.

In 1964 Russell and Suzanne bought a working dairy farm in Cavendish, VT.  This would become a very special place where the Seven Sees would spend summers, winter weekends and vacations. The farm became a place where Suzanne’s artistic tastes and gardening skills could flourish and be appreciated by all.  Perhaps she will be most remembered by friends and relatives as the hostess of the Seven Sees Farm.  Many visitors experienced her sharp wit, incisive observations, and the welcoming atmosphere of her home. She hosted gatherings, graduations, weddings, and Power Wagon rallies.  With the help and support of her loving daughter Amanda, Suzanne enjoyed her last years at the farm on her beloved back porch communing with her feathered and four-legged friends.

Suzanne had many interests. She was an excellent swimmer and skier, and her interior decorating skills were unsurpassed. As a teenager, she sailed and worked as a lifeguard on Lake Erie, and later taught her children to swim and sail on Lake Rescue. Her sewing abilities saved many a cold and wet skier. Suzanne’s family was often outfitted with homemade ski pants, vests, and hats. She thoroughly enjoyed cross-stitching and created many pieces for family and friends to enjoy for years to come.  She also loved shopping and antiquing, but she was happiest when she was in her garden.

Suzanne was predeceased by her parents and by her husband.

She is survived by her brothers, F. Scott Hiller of Appleton, WI, and K. Sheldon Hiller of Dublin, OH, a sister, Sarah Pihl of Surprise Arizona, and her sister-in-law Gene See of West Chester, PA.  Suzanne is also survived by her daughter, Amanda Tucker (Peter), of Montpelier, VT, and sons Weston See (Cathy) of Coventry, CT, Peter See (Kate) of Rutland, VT, Ken See (Maureen) of Granby, CT and Franklin See of Cavendish, VT.  She also leaves grandchildren Eli See of Rutland, VT, Patrick See (Jana) of East Haddam, CT, James See of Jericho, VT, Peter See of Granby, CT, Margaret Costello (John) of Peabody, MA, and a great-grandchild on the way.  Suzanne is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
