Vermont State Police say they are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found on the side of the road in Jay.
Police have identified the victim as Byron M. Camber.
Camber’s body was found at about 5:55 p.m. Tuesday off the side of a road near the intersection of Gendron and Pine Grove roads, the release stated, adding there were no immediate signs of trauma on the victim’s body.
The body was taken to the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
According to state police, the investigation is in the preliminary stages and involves members of the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Major Crime Unit, Victim Services Unit and Field Force Division.
No further information was immediately available Wednesday.
