The Vermont Department of Corrections is investigating the death of an incarcerated individual who was being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.
David Boglioli, 73, of Wilmington, died Tuesday at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the same day he was admitted, the department said in a press release Tuesday night.
The department said it would conduct “internal administrative and medical reviews” following Boglioli’s death, though officials said his death was not considered suspicious.
Boglioli had been serving 10-15 years for manslaughter and was close to finishing his sentence. According to the Brattleboro Reformer, he was convicted of shooting and killing his neighbor, George Riccitelli, in August 2008.
