No matter where in Vermont you live, you have at least one person representing you in each chamber of the Legislature — the House and the Senate.

In the House, Vermont addresses are grouped into 109 districts of one or two representatives each. In the Senate, 16 districts are represented by delegations of one, two or three senators. Senate districts roughly map onto county lines, with some notable exceptions — for one, the more populous Chittenden County is divided into three smaller districts.

These representatives and senators work for you. So it’s important to communicate with them. Let them know about issues you’re facing in your community. Tell them where you stand on pieces of legislation they’ll be voting on. Give them feedback on the job they’re doing in Montpelier.

Use the tools below to look up your representative(s) and senator(s), and click on their names to view them in the state’s legislative directory.

On each directory page, you’ll find that lawmaker’s phone number, email address and mailing address. Call them! Email them! Send them a postcard. Maybe do all three. Reach out more than once if you like.

You can also leave messages for individual lawmakers by dialing the Statehouse switchboard at 802-828-2228. Give the lawmaker’s name, say you are a constituent and ask for your message to be delivered to them.

Don’t forget: The governor and his administration work for you, too. Contact the governor through his official website or send a message via:
